Keypads can be designed to meet virtually any requirement using a variety of switch technologies. Jayco manufactures custom keypads for either surface mounting or rear mounting in the device, with features including positive tactile feedback, backlighting and shielding. Color choices are limitless and the keypads can be designed to meet any product packaging requirements, from very small hand-held devices to robust rack mount equipment. A wide variety of connector options are available for easy connection to your equipment.
Jayco has the experience to design and manufacture keypads and keyboards to meet the most extreme environments. Jayco’s ruggedized keyboards can meet or exceed MIL-STD-810G and IP68. Our keyboards and keypads have surpassed military requirements for temperature, humidity, thermal shock, impact resistance, shock and vibration, acceleration, blowing sand, salt fog, salt spray, abrasion resistance, chemical resistance, water and dust sealing, EMI/RFI shielding, altitude, and long term durability. Our innovative designs are fully featured yet lightweight and compact, and have been used in personal data and communication devices, military radios, missile launch systems, targeting systems, satellite communications, and many other mission critical applications.
For less demanding applications our membrane switches remain the perfect choice with their ideal blend of rugged and reliable performance, attractive appearance, wipe clean sealed switches, positive tactile feedback, integrated backlighting, and low cost. Jayco membrane switches are custom designed to fit their application so you can rely on getting maximum performance for a very reasonable cost. Membrane switches are very thin, light weight devices that can include backlighting in a package less than 0.050” thick, and still thrive in tough industrial and medical environments. Careful design and manufacturing ensures all Jayco’s products offer the lowest cost of use throughout the life of your product.
Jayco’s expertise with user interfaces is not limited to components but includes complete assemblies and custom input devices. These assemblies and input devices can include interface electronics (RS-232, USB, PS2, wireless, etc.), touch screens, backlighting, displays, mechanical switches, encoders, pots, meters, indicators, housings and enclosures. These can be designed for commercial, industrial, aerospace, medical or ruggedized for military applications.
